Limitations

This is a follow up on my diatribe on ‘Habits,’ as they can be such negative limitations. As I’ve said so many times before, Richard Bach’s “Argue for your limitations, and they’re yours.” Never forget that most limitations are all in your mind, and a bigger obstacle than any physical ones you’re surrounded by. You, or you being influenced by what others have said, have created these limitations by your self-doubt, insecurity, and almost always fear of the unknown. As I’ve also said before, if your belief is that you don’t deserve success, you sabotage yourself to avoid finding out how successful you can be. In my recent talk about habits, it’s the importance of questioning yourself about how you limit yourself, and then catching that negative action in mid-mental consciousness stream. The catching, and then replacing it with the positive new action-habit. So, the big step is having something to replace the old insecurity with as – ‘nature abhors a vacuum.’

How often can you start visualizing what positives you do want in your life? Even if they are not set, start with the generalities, and as you become more confident in actually having them in your life, you can add the specifics. I’m talking about you having a happier life, once again one step at a time. The time is going to past whether you use it or not, so why don’t you try using it for your own benefit of positive growth. It is one more step in your freedom, you becoming fully empowered in all you do. If you write about what has been holding you back, as my memoir writing students do, you will soon learn how close freedom – even one small step of it – is from you. There is a tremendous stress-relieving experience when you can actually see from reading your words what your life has been, and how it can change so simply. Real empowered that you release to yourself.

You have the power to change your mind and your life though your thoughts and words. Knowing that, when I’m stressed or in a difficult situation, I regularly boldly claim, “I can do This! I am Blessed!” Never forget that Words – which become Thoughts immediately – are the most powerful force available to you. You can choose them to be negative or positive. Choosing the positive, use this word-force to constructively encourage yourself and others, not destructively causing despair or fear. Use your positive words, and their abilities of energy – power to improve/heal yourself , as well as others. Your attitude in how you look at a situation is the difference between an ordeal and an adventure. Keep it positive with your positive self-talk, or get rid of it!

While today may not be best day of my life, it can still be turned into a good/great day if you give it the positive words/thoughts to be so. It is Your Day, at any point you do have the control of it to change or improve it as you choose. You don’t just say these words without them having an affect on your life, especially when you are working on setting up new habits. You are setting an intention-prediction, while being alert or aware for wonderful things to come into your life. Sometimes all of us have to almost be hit in the face to see the small, good things that have been given to us. Just as I remember to end my day as I slip into bed to say ‘Thank You’ for it, I’ve been working on saying “I am Blessed!” as I start it. Try it, You might like what happens following it.
